Spherical polymer microcapsules have received considerable attention due to their diverse technological applications as microreaction vessels, drug delivery vehicles, protective shells and synthetic pigments. An important aspect about the polymer microcapsules is their functionalization can be achieved by encapsulating guest species, which could be endowed these capsules with diverse properties, so that the applications of polymer capsules can be extended greatly. In our current study, we developed a facile method to fabricate the monodisperse poly(stryrene-co-divinyl benzene) (PSD) microcapsules containing single gold nanoparticle. |
