One-step polyimide aerogel synthesizing method is developed in previous study, and the further study is conducted now for controlling size and shape of polyimide aerogel. The main factors for diversifying size and shape of polyimide aerogel are temperature, pressure, concentration of polyimide chain in solvent and the various solvent used in making poly(amic) acids. In this study, we demonstrate the change occurred in size and shape of polyimide aerogel followed by the different concentration of poly(amic) acids and different temperature and pressure used during the process. Their thermal properties are checked by TGA and DSC, and FT-IR is also used to confirm the complete imidization. The shape and size were observed by SEM, the newly formed polyimide aerogel in different size were uniform. This results proves that the size and shape are controllable by using different factors and could be widely used and applicate in various areas in catalysts, industrial and medical materials. |
