The Extraction Yield & Application on Black liquor for Korean Native Miscanthus Using Soda Pulping Process. |

In the pulping process of Korean Native Miscanthus (KNM), black liquor was produced as by-product and contained mainly lignin and a partial of hemicellulose. KNM was pulping with sodium hydroxide solution in order to extract lignin. In this study, to investigate the effect of lignin extraction yield from KNM, pulping was performed on varied parameter as H-factor, Liquid-to-solid ratio and NaOH concentration. The pulping was used oil-bath and racking reactor. KNM were loaded 2g of dried basis in racking reactor. After that NaOH solution (concentration from 1 to 15%) was added to the reactor at a liquor to KNM ratio of 6, 8, and 10:1 w/w. The pulping was performed at the different H-factor ranged from 500 to 1100 at 170-190℃. After that sample were separated into solid and liquid. The severity of extraction controls the concentration of lignin and monosaccharide sugars available for downstream processing, the accumulation of decomposition products such as organic acids and furans in the black liquor. |
