Ca(OH)2 suspension prepared by adding anionic surfactant, sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS) and sodium acetate trihydrate (SAT) was evaluated as water treatment agents for removal of PO43- and F-. The amounts of surfactant were added from 0.025 wt% to 0.75 wt%. In case of SLS, dispersion stability of Ca(OH)2 suspension got higher depending on increasing in amounts of SLS. Highest viscosity of 135 cp Ca(OH)2 suspension was obtained with a SLS of 0.75 wt% but Ca(OH)2 suspension adding SAT was not shown a much difference dependion on the surfactant. The Ca(OH)2 suspension was characterized by nitrogen adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), zeta-potential, particle size analyzer and viscosity to explain their excellent dispersion stability. |
