The intermolecular coupling reaction has been an important role in organic synthesis. Most coupling reactions have been achieved under high reaction temperatures and toxic chemicals. To overcome inevitable drawbacks like harsh reaction conditions, alternative strategies have been proposed for the last decades. Recently, the photocatalysis technique which uses catalysts and light can be a rational approach for the intermolecular coupling reaction. In this study, we investigated various types of carbon-carbon coupling reactions like a Suzuki, Sonogashira, Stille, and Ullmann cross-coupling. Consequently, we identified that new organic molecules were successfully coupled from various types of reactions, and the results imply that plasmonic gold nanoparticles were able to apply as a versatile catalyst for organic synthesis. |
