Stochastic analysis of fractional order system: Block Pulse Technique |

System represented by differential equations where the orders of derivatives can take any real number not necessarily an integer number can be considered as a fractional order system. The mathematical representation of the plant dynamics can suffer from uncertainties due to modeling errors, nonlinearities, manufacturing tolerances and operating conditions. The stochastic analysis problem for a system with parametric uncertainties is to determine how specific random distribution in the plant parameters map to the range of responses. Thus, the operational matrix technique of block pulse functions is used for stochastic analysis of the fractional order system with random parameters. Examples with deterministic and stochastic disturbance are considered to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method. Comparison with the Monte Carlo method is made to demonstrate the computational effectiveness of the method. |
