제목 COPOLYCARBONATE OF BISPHENOL A AND 4, 4’-DIHYDROXYDIPHENYL
초록 In comparison to a bisphenol A (BPA)-based polycarbonate (PC), a co-polycarbonate (DOD-co-PC) of BPA and 4, 4’-dihydroxydiphenyl (DOD) with 30 mol% of DOD has higher glass transition and heat deflection temperatures, lower notch-radius sensitivity, higher notched-Izod impact strength at thick section and low temperatures, more resistant to embrittlement after heat aging, better hydrolysis and environmental stress-crack resistance. To shed some light on the significant differences in the aforementioned properties of the PC and DOD-co-PC at the microscopic level, average chain length of DOD-carbonate blocks, morphology, supramolecular structure and deformation mechanisms of various DOD-co-PCs. were investigated using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, atomic force and optical microscopy. In the present paper, we review the optical, thermal, physical/mechanical properties and analytical characterization data of DOD-co-PC together with those of PC for comparison.
