Highly soluble fluoro substituted reactive mesogens for PS-VA mode LCD |
초록 |
On current trend in large size and high-performance and Smart-LCD televisions, the important issue is response time. As a way to improve of this response time issue, polymer stabilized-VA (PS-VA) LCD mode which is reactive mesogen (RM) mixed into the Host-LC has been suggested and extensively studied. However, previous reported RMs for PS-VA have reliability problem of panel because of their low photoreactivity and low solubility in PS-VA Host-LC. In order to improve solubility in VA Host-LC, we are designed and synthesized partially fluoro substituted unsymmetrical RMs. RMs are synthesized from starting materials via Suzuki coupling reaction and esterification. As a result, we obtained fluoro substituted phenyl-thiophene-phenyl RM with photocurable methacrylate group. In this presentation, we will be also dicussing about structure characterization of prepared RMs and solubility enhancement result in Host-LC. |
