X-ray crystallography has provided significant impacts on structure characterizations in physics, chemistry, material science, biology, and other fields. However, recent studies have focused on nano-structures such as polymers, quantum dots, and bio materials, which are quite difficult to make crystals with long range periodicity. Coherent diffraction imaging (CDI) technique is quite useful for structure characterization of non-periodic nano-structures with high resolution. We have carried out CDI experiments for nano-crystals and biological specimens by utilizing the 3rd generation synchrotron radiation sources. Recently, we have developed a diffraction chamber to carry out CDI experiments for EUV-FEL source at SCSS in SPring-8. In this talk, we will introduce the CDI technique and show some experimental results on nano-structures. Moreover, we will briefly introduce CDI experiments utilizing EUV-FEL source at SCSS. |
