Contrary to the preparation of ordinary bulky perovskite films, a few nanometer-sized MAPbI3 perovskite sensitizer could be deposited by using 2-step spin-coating of low-concentrated precursor solutions over the surface of mesoporous TiO2 film and their properties were characterized by UV-Vis, PL, XRD, SEM, and TEM techniques. Those well-defined perovskite nano-dots were observed to be working well as a photosensitizer in the structure of solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells based on the relatively thin TiO2 film less than about 1 μm. In addition, nanometer-sized PbI2 particles were also deposited over mesoporous TiO2 film by spin-coating of 0.20 M PbI2 solution alone and tested as a photosensitizer. The as-prepared PbI2-sensitized solar cell gave overall power conversion efficiency of 1.41% which was almost four times better than a comparable CdS quantum dot sensitizer prepared by the successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction process. |
