Preparation and Characterization of Monodisperse Poly(vinyl Acetate)/Poly(vinyl Alcohol) Microspheres by Heterogeneous Surface Hydrolysis using HCl as a Catalyst |
초록 |
Monodisperse poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) microspheres through a low temperature suspension polymerization were acid-hydrolised in the heterogeneous system and converted to poly(vinyl acetate-co-vinyl alcohol) (P(VAc-co-VA)) microspheres with various degrees of saponification (DS). Separated P(VAc-co-VA) microspheres by freeze-drying method kept their original spherical shapes, of which micro pores were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). We obtaind various structures by controlling of saponification time. From these results, it was concluded that acid-hydrolysis of PVAc microspheres resulted in P(VAc-co-VA) microspheres of which DS increased gradually from inner region to outer. |
