Nowadays various anti-fouling (AF) paints with low frictional coefficient have been developed and launched because of the increasing fuel efficiency. However few results were reported the relationship between the abrasion and surface properties of AF. In this study, we developed dynamic and static methods to analyzing this relationship employing commercial AF paints. The dynamic test method, which was based on ASTM D6442, has been carried out for 6 months using 5 polycarbonate cylinder specimens. In static tests, all specimens have been immersed in substitute ocean water and periodically sampled the specimen and examined.
