Chabazite (CHA)-type zeolites are promising for CO2-selective membrane because of their efficient molecular sieving properties. In this work, CHA zeolite membrane was synthesized by controlling the Si/Al ratio of the synthesis solution to find optimal synthesis condition for CHA membrane. The specified Si/Al ratio was 20, 100, and ∞. Each samples are referred to as CHA_x, where x indicates the nominal Si/Al ratio of the synthesis solution. CHA_100 showed best CO2/N2 and CO2/CH4 separation performance. They showed CO2/N2 SF of 5.2 and CO2/CH4 SF of 31 when using a dry feed. It is because the most suitable crystal structure is obtained when the nominal Si/Al ratio is 100. A CHA_100 has larger peak than CHA_20, CHA_∞. plane means that the 8-MR (membered-ring) channels were positioned perpendicular to the zeolite surface. So it has shorter passage through the membrane and CO2 permeance would be increased. |
