제목 Investigation on thermo-oxidative stabilization of poly(acrylonitrile-co-itaconic acid)s having different microstructures by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy
초록 Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is one of the most important precursors to produce high performance carbon fiber and conductive nano-carbon materials. The structural characteristics of the precursors significantly affect the properties of resulting carbon materials. One of the most important processes during the transformation of the linear PAN chains to aromatic carbonic structure is stabilization. In this study, various poly(acrylonitrile-co-itaconic acid)s (PAI) having different structural characteristics are prepared through free radical polymerization and controlled/’living’ radical polymerization. Effects of different content of comonomer, architecture and tacticity on oxidative stabilization processes of PAI are investigated by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. These results demonstrate the preparation of optimum PAN-based precursor for high-performance carbon materials.
