All-Fabric Flexible Ag2Se Thermoelectric Generator for Harvesting Electrical Energy in Wearable Devices |

Flexible thermoelectric generators are essential components for powering human-friendly wearable electronic devices and for harvesting electrical energy from thermal energy of human body. However, recent textile-based thermoelectric generators mostly fabricated with coating method using organic thermoelectric materials, which having weakness under mechanical deformation. Herein, we fabricated textile-based thermoelectric modules by aqueous in-situ chemical reduction of Ag2Se inside the cotton fabric and each Ag2Se thermoelectric module was integrated by using Ag conductive fibers. Due to the densely formed Ag2Se nanoparticles inside the fabric, thermoelectric modules achieved a power factor of 23.4 μWm-1K-2 with an electrical conductivity of 225 Scm-1 and a Seebeck coefficient of -30.64 μVK-1 at room temperature. The all-fabric Ag2Se thermoelectric generator showed high performance of harvesting electrical energy using human body heat even under high mechanical deformation. |
