Ink-jet printing is regarded as an emerging key technology for a fabrication method in many applications such as DNA microarrays, electronic devices. For these applications, the understanding about the evaporation driven microfluid flow in an evaporating droplet is important to control the thickness distribution of deposited solutes on a substrate after the evaporation. We systematically investigated the evaporation behavior and the flow in the evaporating water droplets on polymer surfaces as a function of the evaporation time by varying the initial quantity of droplets, the initial contact angles, the solute properties, and the concentrations. From this study, we can understand the relationship between the evaporation behavior of water droplets and the formation of stains on polymer surfaces. |
