The acrylic copolymers, which were used as base polymer for pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs), were synthesized by solution polymerization of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, and acrylic acid with AIBN as an initiator. The acrylic copolymers were prepared with various contents of epoxy-type crosslinking agent (0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 phr) and acrylic acid (5, 7, 10 phr). These acrylic copolymer adhesives were investigated in terms of viscosity, peel strength, and probe tack. The probe tack and peel strength of PSAs having higher content of crosslinking agent and acrylic acid decreased after curing due to the increased degree of crosslinking. |
