Polysulfone (PSF), which can be used as a thermoplastic toughening agent for epoxy, was synthesized by in-situ azide-alkyne click reaction during curing of epoxy with amine. In-situ poly(1,4-bis(azidomethyl)benzene(p-BAB))/(4,4-sulfonylbis(propynyloxy)benzene(SPB)) forming reaction and Epoxy curing reaction were performed in function of content of PSF. We studied fracture toughness analysis of the prepared in-situ PSF toughened epoxy. Fracture toughness was enhanced significantly only 5 wt% of in-situ PSF. In-situ toughening method proposed in this study provides an efficient way to make toughened epoxy without increased viscosity of non-cured epoxy resin. |
