제목 Synthesis of a Novel Side Chain Liquid Crystalline-Main Chain Liquid Crystalline Block Copolymer by Radical/Cation Transformation Polymerization
초록 The block copolymers containing liquid crystalline (LC) segments, such as rod-coil and side-chain liquid crystalline (SCLC)-coil block copolymer, have been paid great attention in the past two decades. In this study, the block copolymer composed of SCLC segment of poly(4'-(6-(4-vinylphenoxy)hexyloxy)biphenyl-4-carbonitrile) (PVHBC) and MCLC segment of poly(decanedioic acetic 4,4'-(propane-2,2-diyl)diphenyl ester)-co-poly(decanedioic acetic (1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diester) (PDADE) was prepared by radical/cation transformation polymerization. Structure of the block copolymer PVHBC-b-PDADE (Mn=13092, PDI=1.33) is confirmed by 1H NMR and GPC etc. The LC property of the block copolymer is studied by DSC, POM etc. As the result, the transition peak corresponding to PDADE segment from LC phase to an isotropic phase appeared at about 130°C and that corresponding to PVHBC segment appeared at about 97°C, which is lower than that of PVHBC homopolymer.
