제목 The effect of different rare earth oxides on thermal and optical properties of hot pressed translucent Sialon ceramics
초록 Sialon is usually opaque due to its anisotropic grain structure. Recently, there were some works on fabrication of translucent Sialon ceramics. Sialon composite shows higher light transmission in NIR region than Sialon added with REOs. Very few studies were carried out for thermal properties of Sialon ceramics. Thermal conductivity  and coefficient of thermal expansion values were increased with addition of REOs. However, translucency was decreased with REOs addition. Addition of REOs shows higher thermal conductivity except Nd2O3 added. But at higher temperature, the thermal conductivity of without REOs added Sialon shows simular conductivity with La2O3 and Er2O3 added Sialon ceramics.
