One pot aqueous phase synthesis of indolic compounds using peptide film-polypyrrole supported palladium catalyst |

A lot of methods for synthesizing indolic compounds have been developed for the last decades due to their importance such various biological activities and structural diversity. Among them, a well-known approach is cross-coupling reaction using transition metal catalysts. In addition, one pot synthesis of indolic compounds has been the current issue from the green chemistry point of view. However, the method needs harsh reaction conditions. To solve the problem, more efficient catalyst is required. Recently, we have found that nanofilm formed by tyrosine-rich peptide (TRP) at air-water interface can be used as a template for simultaneously inducing polymerizarion of pyrrol and reduction of palladium (Pd) ions. This phenomenon would be attributed to redox property of tyrosine. The TRP-polypyrrole supported palladium catalysts (TRP@PPy@Pd catalysts) showed an excellent catalytic activity in one-pot synthesis of indolic compounds from 2-iodoaniline derivatives in water. |
