제목 Automatic and Robust Vertical Alignment Layer in Multi-Domain Electrode Liquid Crystal Cell by Photopolymerizing Dendritic Monomer
초록 The synthesized amphiphilic reactive monomers and the polyhedral oligomeric silsequioxane (MAPOSS) cross-linkers were directly introduced for the construction of automatic and robust multi-domain vertical alignment (auto-VA) layers in the host nematic liquid crystal (NLC) medium. After forming auto-VA layer, the pretilted NLC at zero voltage can be induced by photopolymerization under electric field. The pretilted NLC in multi-domain VA cell has dramatically improvement of the electro-optic properties such as fast response time and viewing angle. Furthermore, we found that various sizes of protrusions on the solid substrates were automatically contructed by the two-step mechanisms from the morphological observations.
