제목 | Relationship between Rheological Behavior and Microstructure of Cation Surfactant Solutions |
초록 | In this research, rheological and rheo-optical measurements were performed to examine the relationship between rheological behavior and microstructure evolution of dilute and semi-dilute equimolar cetylpyridinium chloride(CPyCl)/sodium salicylate (NaSal) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)/ NaSal solutions under shear flow. In the study of zero shear viscosity with concentration of CPyCl/NaSal and CTAB/ NaSal solutions, it was observed that the zero shear viscosity shows abrupt change at C* and C**, and this is believed to be caused by the switching of relaxation mechanism with concentration of the solutions at those concentration. To understand how the shear induced structure of CPyCl/NaSal and CTAB/ NaSal wormy micellar solutions affect the shear viscosity and wall slip velocity, birefringence was measured. Acknowledgement : This study was supported by research grants from the KOSEF through the Applied Rheology Center (ARC), an official KOSEF-created engineering research center (ERC) at Korea University, Seoul, Korea. |
