제목 Effect of curing agents on water glass binder in additive manufacturing
초록 Recently, 3D printing technology (Additive manufacturing, AM) has been applied to molding process in foundry. The most important advantage of this technology is that the whole molding process can be minimized and it is directly available for producing complex sand mold by selectively jetting a bonding agent to the desired position. In this study. we manufactured the sand mold using a chemical mechanism by introducing water glass, commonly used as a inorganic binder, to 3D printing. To promote the curing of water glass, we added the acidic curing agents such as HCl, H2SO4, and H3PO4 Afterward, we investigated how the curing agents affect that of water glass depending on their concentrations and pH. As a result, it was found that the curing of water glass can be accelerated with increase of concentration of curing agents added.
