In this study, we investigated the effects of polymer molecular weight (MW) and interfacial tension on final porous structure prepared by breath figure under humid flow condition. Well-defined porous structures were obtained when a high molecular weight PMMA, whereas porous structures were not developed for a low molecular weight. The interfacial tension between water and chloroform was changed by adding different amounts of methanol and hexane. When a proper amount of methanol (water-miscible solvent) was used, well-developed porous structure was observed. However, porous structure formation was not successful prepared when hexane (water-immiscible solvent) was added. |
