This study focused on the effect of polyol types on the water/methylene iodide contact angles/surface free energy and average particle size, viscosity of hybrid emulsions, confirmation of the chemical structure, water swelling, thermal degradation and mechanical properties of the waterborne polyurethane/acrylate hybrid emulsion films. A series of waterborne poly(urethane-urea) containing different polyols[poly(tetramethylene ether)glycol, poly(tetramethylene adipate)glycol, polybutadiene diol]/acrylate[IBOA/MMA/PFA, total acrylic monomer content : 30wt%] hybrid were prepared by in situ polymerization using a solvent-/emulsifier-free prepolymer mixing process.
