Whitlockite Nanocrystals Synthesis and Biocompatibility Study |
초록 |
whitlockite is a kind of calcium phosphate existing in natural bone tissue and contains Mg. More than 50% of the magnesium in the body is stored in the bones of the human body. Several studies have reported that WH promotes osteogenesis and WH could promote proliferation and osteogenic differentiation in osteoblasts. The content is higher in adolescence than adults. Overall, WH seems like acting important role in early step of biological mineralization. Mechanism and the important roles as well as the applications of WH have not been fully investigated due to the difficulty in synthesizing single-phase WH nanostructured materials. Here we report easy and simple method to synthesis whitlockite by using hydrothermal method and synthetic conditions for morphology control. The crystal phase and morphology of the product can be adjusted by the precursors ratio in the initial reaction solution, and it shows high biocompatibility with osteoblast. |
