제목 Effects of melt blending condition and recycled PP composition on the physical properties of wood/PP/clay composites
초록 There has been an increased interest in the use of recycled thermoplastic because it is cost-effective and eco-friendly. In this study, effect of recycled polypropylene on the mechanical properties and water absorption behavior of wood/PP/clay composites were investigated. An organoclay was used a nanofillers. Melt-blending condition of the composites was optimized. The composites were prepared by melt-blending all the ingredients, followed by compression molding. The mechanical properties of the composites were measured by UTM and izod impact tester. The mechanical properties data showed that the optimum processing condition was melt-blending at 170℃ for 15min at 60rpm. With increasing the content of recycled PP the mechanical properties of the composites decreased and the water absorption of the composites increased as expected. However, wood/PP/clay composites with reasonable physical properties could be made by adding recycled PP up to 50wt% of total PP.
