Encapsulated ZVI with Alginate/Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose for in situ treatment of Cr(VI) and As(III): continuous-flow column study |
초록 |
Zero Valent Iron (ZVI), Fe0 is a material well known as a highly reactive reducing agent, and when reacted, not only the desired reduction reaction but also by-reaction occurs. In this study, SA-ZVI and SA/CMC-ZVI were prepared by encapsulating Sodium alginate (SA) and Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose (CMC) to control the reactivity of ZVI. batch pH effect and kinetics tests were performed to confirm the reactivity of prepared SA/CMC-ZVI through removal of Cr(VI) and As(III) in aqueous system. The performance was confirmed by applying a continuous column for artificial contaminated water and actual contaminated wastewater. The removal mechanism was also confirmed through characterization of the prepared SA/CMC-ZVI before and after the reaction. |
