In this work, eco-friendly nanocomposite films were synthesized by chitosan (CHS), (PVA, ZnS, sulfosuccinic acid (SSA), and additives. Cross-linking of nanocomposite films was carried out using heat curing process. ZnS was synthesized by the reaction of Zn(CH3COO)2 and Na2S2O3·5H2O in aqueous solution via a template-free hydrothermal process. The characterization of prepared ZnS was performed using XRD, FT-IR, and SEM. In addition, CHS/PVA nanocomposite films were characterized by using XRD, FT-IR, and SEM. The results verified that ZnS characteristic peaks existed in the prepared nanocomposite films. Tensile strength (TS), elongation at break (%E), swelling behavior (SB), and solubility (S) of prepared nanocomposite films were investigated. The photocatalytic degradability of the prepared films containing ZnS nanoparticles was evaluated using 2,4-D and methyl orange (MO) as photodegradation targets. |
