Thermal-Crosslinked Biocompatible, Hydrophilic Polyvinylpyrrolidone Coated on Polyurethane for Enhancing Mechanical and Adhesion Properties |
초록 |
Biocompatible, hydrophilic coatings of consumable medical devices are important technologies for reductions of tissue damage and interstitial pain during human body insertion. We have applied hydrophilic coating of PU medical device using biocompatible polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) polymer. PVP is a typical biopolymer and is widely used as a medical material such as guidwire. In addition, the medical applicators of polyurethane (PU) polymer is a material which has no harmful components in the human body and is likely to be used for low-cost medical applicators in the future. However, biocompatible coatings are difficult to achieve due to low surface energy and inertness of PU polymer, resulting in tissue damage during insertion of the human body. |
