제목 Effect of TiO2 Crystalline Phase for Low Temperature CO oxidation over Copper Oxide Doped TiO2 catalysts.
초록 Carbon monoxide (CO) is known as major air pollutant and considerable cause of catalyst poisoning. Therefore, removing CO gases is important for environment protection and industrial process. Noble metals such as gold, platinum and palladium based catalysts are well-known for CO oxidation reaction. They show superb performance for CO oxidation reaction, however, it is important to substitute active metals on the catalysts due to their high cost and vulnerability. In this study, we synthesized copper oxide doped titanium dioxide catalysts (CuO-TiO2), which show high activity for CO oxidation reaction and outstanding stability toward thermal sintering. TiO2 is synthesized by sol-gel method and its crystalline phase is finely controlled by calcination conditions. Copper oxide is loaded on TiO2 by wet-impregnation method. We conduct CO oxidation reaction in lab-scale and optimize TiO2 crystalline phase for CO oxidation reaction. We observed that species of copper oxide is tuned by different TiO2 crystalline phase, resulting that catalytic performance is also significantly influenced.
