Study of the accelerating effect of shikonin and gamma-irradiated hydrogels on the wound healing |
초록 |
Wound healing is a complicated biological process, which involves interactions of multiple cell types, various growth factors, their mediators and the extracellular matrix proteins. In this study, we evaluated the accelerating effect of shikonin and gamma-irradiated hydrogels and compared the histological changes on the proliferation on normal and punch wounds in rats. Also, we investigated the mechanical properties such as a gelation, water absorptivity, and gel strength of the corresponding hydrogels. These studies suggest that both materials could be further studied for clinical use to enhance wound healing. |
