Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) reaction for converting syngas to value-added hydrocarbons has been investigated using ordered mesoporous Zr-incorporated Fe2O3 catalyst. During FTS reaction, the structure disintergration and low activity were observed in the ordered mesoporous Fe2O3, therefore, the irreducible metal component was added into the Fe2O3 structure to improve catalyst stability. In the present study, ZrO2 incorporated mesoporous Fe2O3 were synthesized to improve the structural stability by varying a molar ratio of Fe/Zr through nano-casting replica method. When irreducible ZrO2 component was incorporated into the mesoporous Fe2O3 structure, the catalytic activity was dramatically increased due to an enhanced structural stability. In order to characterize the properties of the as-prepared FTS catalysts, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis, and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) were carried out. |
