Polymer-Coated Tips for Patterning of Viruses by Dip-Pen Nanolithography |

Dip-pen nanolithography(DPN) allows one to directly print a wide variety of biomolecules in a surface with high resolution. This technique has potential applications for gene chips and multiple biomolecular arrys because one can create patterns with numerous molecules in a direct-write fashion. In this work, we generated adeno-associated viruses(AAVs) nanostructures by nano porous poly(2-methyl-2-oxazoline)(PMeOx) coated tip. This tip was fabricated by ring opening polymerization of 2-methyl-2-oxazoline monomers on the tip surface. In conclusion, we have developed a straightforward and effective DPN method that uses a nanoporous PMeOx-coated tip to generate patterns of large sized viruses. The nano-porous polymer coated tip and pattern of viruses were characterized with AFM, SEM and fluorescent microscope. |
