제목 Reactive Compatibilization of Poly (lactic acid)/Thermoplastic olefin elastomer Blends
초록 Poly (lactic acid) (PLA) is an eco-friend and bio-degradable polymer. However, due to the brittleness of PLA, there are limitations in applying it to various industries. Therefore, PLA often blended with other soft polymers such as rubber. In this study, PLA/thermoplastic olefin elastomer (TPOE) blends with various contents were prepared by melt mixing technique. And reactive compatibilization was applied to improve the interfacial adhesion between PLA and TPOE, the elongation at break and flexural strain were profoundly enhanced because of the improved interfacial adhesion between the two phases. We also confirmed that it was feasible to fabricate PLA/TPOE blends with controllable mechanical, barrier properties with combination of PLA and TPOE under reactive compatibilization while retaining the biodegradability.
