Fatty alcohols and their derivatives are widely used in surfactants, detergents, lubricants, and others. The hydrogenation of unsaturated fatty acid methyl ester to unsaturated fatty alcohol has been carried out by the heterogeneous catalysts. The activities of the hydrogenation of the catalysts having small-size particle were tested in various reaction condition. The zinc chromite synthesized by wet method shows good activity of hydrogenation for unsaturated fatty esters. For improving the activity of the hydrogenation reaction, the preparation of particles with small size and narrow distribution has carried out in various dispersant systems which control the growth of particles. |
