Crack-free and transparent mesoporous silica plate was synthesized using solvent-evaporation method based on the self-organization between structure-directing agent and silicate in nonaqueous solvent. Pore diameter and surface area of the plate were 40.3 Å and 608.8 m2g-1. Rare-earth metal oxide (Eu, Tb, Tm oxide) in mesochennel were formed via one-step synthetic route based on the preparation method of the intrinsic silica plate. Optical properties of rare-earth metal oxide-doped mesoporous silica plats were investigated by UV irradation and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. Using the exitation wavelength, 250 nm, the doped mesoporous silica plates showed red, green and blue images for Eu, Tb and Tm oxides, respectively. Rare-earth metal oxide-doped mesoporous silica plates showed enhanced PL intensity compared to that of the bulk rare-earth metal oxide. The samples have potential applications in the area of UV sensor, separation, adsorption, catalysis, nanotechnology and so on. |
