The copper/poly(ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT) composites were prepared using by various copper compound as oxidant in the interface between water and chloroform medium. In this reaction, the EDOT was polymerized oxidatively by CuCl2 while CuCl2 was reduced to form Cu metal even though CuCl2 has low oxidation potential. The formation of Cu and the yield of the composite were depended on the mol-ratio of EDOT and Cu and the kinds of Cu-compound, surfactant, and solvent. The Cu/PEDOT composites were characterized by UV-vis spectrum, SEM, EDX, and XRD, and the formation of Cu metal was confirmed by XPS. |
