Separation of Single-walled carbon nanotube using Electron-Donating Groups coupled Agarose Bead |

In this study, the ability of electron-donating (thiol) and electron-withdrawing (imidazol) groups on the polymer supports of agarose bead to affect the interactions between the modified agarose gel bead and SWNTs is examined by substituting the hydroxyl group with methionine and tryptophan, respectively. As a result separation using electron donating group (methionine) attached agarose bead showed enhanced separation purity than inherent agarose bead. Effective separation was verified by absorption and Raman spectroscopic analysis. |
