Porous materials have been extensively studied for their applications in gas storage, drug delivery, and pollution removal. Especially the gas storage materials are very important for the development of future transportation vehicles. MOFs (metal-organic-frameworks), nanoporous carbons, and hypercross-linked polymers were proposed as candidates. In this study, we prepared hypercross-linked polymers based on cyclotriphosphazenes. Various polymerizable groups were introduced to the cyclotriphosphazene ring and thermally polymerized to produce hypercross-linked polymers. The thermal property, morphology, and pore structure of the polymers were investigated. The polymers showed high surface areas (~1000 m2/g) and small pore sizes (~0.6 nm). |
