The industry of non-conventional crude oil(bitumen, shale oil, extra heavy oil) gets bigger with development of technique in recovery of heavy crude oil. Especially for recovery of bitumen, SAGD (steam assisted gravity drainage) technique is applied which results bitumen/water emulsion. To separate asphaltene from emulsion which is the heaviest molecules in crude oil. Usually, froth treatment is used for separation of asphaltene. In this research, a new additive was used to develop froth treatment. Asphaltene was partitioned and precipitated by adding oxidized asphaltene in n-pentane/water/bitumen emulsion. Addition of oxidized asphaltene resulted in the increase ratio of precipitation of asphaltene. |
