Although the self-assembly of low-molecular mass is one of the most convenient methods for the preparation of organic micro/nanomaterials, the fabrication of hollow nanospheres by this methods are rare reported. Here we have synthesized multihydroxy complex 5-(bis(4-amino-3,5-dimethylphenyl)(3,4,5-trihydroxyphenyl)methyl)benzene-1,2,3-triol (DMHT) consisted of conjugate hydroxyl and amide side groups, which facilitate the formation of fascinating self-assembling architecture through intermolecular π-π stacking and hydrogen bonds interaction. We discovered the spontaneous formation of nanoscale hollow spheres with highly stable structure and relatively narrow size distribution. This discovery prompted us to develop a direct method for the fabrication of low-molecular mass nanocapsules without template. The photophysics and laser action of rhodamine 6G locoated hollow spheres are also investigated in detail. |
