초록 |
Although poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) has many advantages such as biodegradable and biocompatible properties, the biomedical applications have been limited because its hydrolysate causes inflammatory responses in the body. In this study, we prepared magnesium hydroxide nanoparticles grafted with ricinoleic acid and further oligolactide (RA-Mg-OLA) to neutralize the acidic materials rapidly generated during PLGA degradation by increasing the rate of dissolution and additionally to improve the mechanical property of PLGA matrix. Their chemical structure, morphology, pH change, and mechanical properties were analyzed by FTIR, SEM, pH meter, and UTM. RA-Mg-OLA nanoparticles were successfully synthesized and their effect on pH neutralization was confirmed. Consequently, in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated that the PLGA/RA-Mg-OLA composite could overcome the problems associated with PLGA-based biomedical implants due to positive effects of suppressing inflammation. |
