제목 | Hard Coatings on Polycarbonate Plate by Sol-Gel Reactions of [3-(methacryloyloxy)propyl]trimethoxysilane |
초록 | The molecular level combination of organic and inorganic components leads to the hybrid materials. These hybrid materials are considered to be the composite materials having wide varieties of applications particularly in the field of abrasion resistant coatings on plastics. [3-(methacryloyloxy)propyl]trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) is one of the most important precursors used for the preparation of inorganic-organic hybrids following sol-gel reaction. This precursor is a combination of two different components namely methacryloxy (organic) and silicon alkoxy (inorganic) groups. In this research, MPTMS and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) were used to prepare the coatings on polycarbonate plate by sol-gel reactions. The optimum conditions and the formulation to get the excellent physical properties were determined. The pretreatment condition of PC plate, the mole ratio of alkoxysilane compounds, selection of the solvent, the aging time, and the amount of acid catalyst, Pretreatment with poly(methyl methacrylate) was effective to increase the adhesion strength.
