제목 Preparation and characterization of poly(acrylic acid)/poly(ethylene glycol) hydrogel for buccal mucosa adhesion by radiation  
초록 The aim of the present study is to develop a suitable poly(acrylic acid)(PAA)-based mucoadhesive which might have potential for the localized prolonged delivery of active agents into an oral cavity. In this experiment, PAA and poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG) were selected for preparing the bioadhesive hydrogel adhering to mucosal surfaces using a radiation process. PAA was dissolved in purified water, and PEG was then incorporated into the PAA solution. Finally, the mixture was irradiated by electron beam accelerator to make hydrogel. Their physical properties such as gel percent, swelling percent, compressive strength, and adhesive strength to mucosal surfaces have been investigated.
