제목 Microbial decolorization of Remazol Black B by Sphingomonas xenophaga
초록 Recently, the wastewater treatments from textile and dyestuff industries has become of increasing importance. Also, the wastewaters are highly colored due to residual dyestuff from dyeing processes. Especially azo dyes are the most important group in synthetic colorants. They are generally considered as xenobiotic compounds that are very recalcitrant against biodegradative processes.
Currently, physio-chemical methods are very costly and accumulation of concentrated sludge creates a disposal problem, and only a little xenobiotic is removed by conventional aerobic biological wastewater treatment systems. Anaerobic treatments with the following anaerobic process have been studied as an alternative cost-effective method for the decolorization of many dyes.
Decolorization of a Remazol Black B under anaerobic condition has been done in this study by using Sphingomonas xenophaga.
