Heteroatom-doped carbon nanomaterials have attracted a lot of attention in the past few years, since they are known to possess high electrocalalytic activity as well as excellent durability. Thus, it may potentially replace expensive platinum-based electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in fuel cells (FCs). Herein, we report edge-selectively nitrogen-doped, carboxylic acid-functionalized graphene nanoplatelets by simple ball-milling graphite in the presence of nitrogen/CO2, which are expected to display high electrocatalytic activity. |
