Changes of biological activity of Rhodiola sachalinesis according to extraction conditions |

HKC possess a wide range of pharmacological activities. The changes of biological activity were investigated by using various solvents and extraction methods. The recovery rate was significantly higer when using the ultrasonic extraction method than when using water and ethanol. In addition, radical scavcenging activity of DPPH and ABTS was also significantly higher when extracted with ultrasonic than water and ethanol extraction. Based on these results, we investigated the inhibitory effect of ROS on the induction of intracellular oxidative stress. The ROS produced by oxidative stress induced by H2O2 in the HaCaT cells was significantly decreased in a concentration-dependent manner by the ultrasonic extract. In other words, the HKC extract through ultrasonic extraction significantly improved the antioxidative activity as well as ROS production by oxidative stress. Therefore, it is confirmed that the activity of natural materials is changed according to the extraction method. |
