제목 Synthesis of Aliphatic Polycarbonate Polyol by CO2/Epoxide Copolymerization Using Double Metal Cyanide Catalysts
초록 Aliphatic polycarbonate (PC) polyols were synthesized by ring opening copolymerization of propylene oxide (PO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) using polypropylene glycol (PPG-400D) as an initiator in the presence of double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst. Process for PC production was developed the copolymerization of PO and CO2 with various DMC catalysts. The end group functionality was controlled by using PPG-400D. DMC catalysts were synthesized by zinc chloride with potassium hexacyanocobaltate in the presence of various complexing agents. The thermal behavior of PC is studied by differential scanning calorimetry and thermo gravimetric analysis. The results showed that the selectivity to carbonate formation was higher than 50% and end-group hydroxyl functionality could be controlled by choosing the type of PPG-400D, demonstrating the DMC catalysts are a good toolkit for the efficient synthesis of PC polyols with different molecular weights, CO2 selectivities, and functionalities.
